Richmond's own Noah O made his mark on the local music scene with an electrifying album release event at The Broadberry, drawing an enthusiastic crowd ready to celebrate a milestone years in the making.

Before the lights hit the stage, Noah and fellow creative Shawn Gray held things down at the merchandise table, connecting with fans and moving product for their imprint, Charged Up, a fitting warm-up to a night that was equal parts community and culture. The lineup didn't disappoint, featuring a diverse roster of artists who brought raw lyricism and vivid storytelling to the mic, keeping the audience locked in from start to finish.

But to understand the weight of this release, you have to go back to 2014, when Noah first set out to find a collaborator who could hold the full range of his musical identity, a sound shaped by Bay Area rap, Boom Bap, Lo-Fi, and Southern Hip Hop. That search eventually led him to Suttahomz, a Brooklyn-native producer with serious credentials, including work with Roc Nation and production credits alongside artists like Amerie and 2 Chainz.

By 2016, the two were deep in the studio, building what would become TRILLipino — an album rooted in Noah's experience as a Filipino American raised between the streets of San Francisco and Richmond, VA. The project is as much a personal narrative as it is a sonic one, and years of deliberate collaboration between Noah and Suttahomz resulted in a sound that feels entirely, unmistakably his own.
